Financial aid is available to help fund your graduate studies. Be sure to explore our Financial Aid FAQ Page as you consider what options work best for you.

Federal Student Aid

To apply for Federal student loans, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and add the NYU school code: 002785. 

The FAFSA must be completed each academic year to remain eligible for Federal Student Aid.

  • Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan: Most graduate students are potentially eligible to receive up to $20,500 per academic year.
  • Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan: This credit-based loan is a supplement to the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. The maximum loan amount is up to the student’s cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received.

Scholarships

Counseling@NYU applicants may be considered for scholarships, based upon their application for admission. No separate application for scholarships is necessary. These scholarships will be awarded to a select number of aspiring mental health counselors committed to making a difference in their community.
