Federal Student Aid
To apply for Federal student loans, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and add the NYU school code: 002785.
The FAFSA must be completed each academic year to remain eligible for Federal Student Aid.
- Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan: Most graduate students are potentially eligible to receive up to $20,500 per academic year.
- Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan: This credit-based loan is a supplement to the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. The maximum loan amount is up to the student’s cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received.
Scholarships
Counseling@NYU applicants may be considered for scholarships, based upon their application for admission. No separate application for scholarships is necessary. These scholarships will be awarded to a select number of aspiring mental health counselors committed to making a difference in their community.
