Curriculum Snapshot
The MA in School Counseling program requires a total of 48 credits and approximately 18 to 33 months to complete based on your cohort start date and overall program length. Students can also take advantage of our additional bilingual extension for three additional credits.
In addition to completing one of the course sequences below, you must also complete the Counselor Education Comprehensive Examination (CECE) during your last term in the program. The CECE is the terminal experience for all Counseling@NYU students. All students must complete a workshop on drug and alcohol education, school violence prevention, and child abuse recognition. This workshop is completed as a non-credit course in-person (during immersion) and online.
