NYU CareerNet is the Wasserman Center’s online database that gives students direct access to search for full-time, part-time, and internship positions as well as access to additional web-based job search and career exploration tools.
The Wasserman Center hosts hundreds of career-related events and several virtual and in-person career fairs annually that help students explore different industries, learn about career options, and network with potential employers. Interview Preparation
What resources are available to help students prepare for interviews for practicums, internships, or full-time positions?

Schedule a mock interview with a career coach to help polish your interview techniques and skills. Offered virtually and in person, mock interviews are structured as a simulation of an actual job interview, enabling students to practice while receiving useful feedback. To schedule a mock interview, log in to NYU CareerNet, locate the “Shortcuts” menu in the main dashboard on the right, and select “Request a Career Coaching Appointment.”
Practice, record, review, and share videotaped interviews using the web-based interview training tool InterviewStream, accessible through NYU CareerNet.

What is NYU CareerNet and how do students log in?
NYU CareerNet is the NYU Wasserman Center’s online career platform. All current NYU students and alumni have access to NYU CareerNet to schedule career coaching appointments, access career resources to research career paths and industries, search for jobs and internships, and register for career-related events. Can students schedule a virtual career coaching meeting at the Wasserman Center?
Yes, students can schedule a career coaching appointment virtually. When requesting a career coaching appointment in NYU CareerNet, students should indicate in the notes section of the appointment request that they will need to connect virtually. Virtual appointments can be done via Skype or Google Hangouts or over the phone, so students must indicate their preference.
How long can graduates continue to utilize career services?
Recent NYU alumni who have graduated within 12 months have unlimited access to all the Wasserman Center’s services, events, and programs (except on-campus recruitment), in addition to these services and resources.
Alumni are defined as graduates with an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree or graduate certificate from an eligible NYU school who completed their NYU programs more than one year ago. Alumni have free lifetime access to job listings on NYU CareerNet. Within NYU CareerNet, alumni can also schedule career coaching appointments, pre-register for alumni-focused events and workshops, and explore career development resources.
Why should students work with the career services team? What value can be provided through a coaching session?
Career coaches at the Wasserman Center provide individualized career guidance and support throughout students’ career development process. Career coaches can help students identify career interests, explore professional goals, edit their resume and cover letter, sharpen their interview skills, get connected with a mentor in their field, and discuss job search strategies in their specific area of interest. Assessment tools and interest inventories are also available to students who need additional guidance in identifying appropriate career options. To schedule a 30-minute appointment with a career coach, log in to NYU CareerNet and select “Request a Career Coaching Appointment” under “Shortcuts” on the right-hand side.
Are there webinars or events that students can attend throughout the academic year? Can online students come to on-campus career events?
