APSY-GE 2667: Internship in School Counseling I

This first internship course requires 200–300 hours of supervised counseling experience in an approved elementary, middle, or high school setting and participation in a weekly university seminar. The course provides opportunities for students to examine the range of their professional experiences as counselors-in-training. Areas of examination will include individual and group counseling, consultation, classroom guidance, prevention, crisis intervention, and multicultural and ethical issues. Students are expected to adhere to American School Counselor Association and American Counseling Association ethical guidelines.
